Tales From Afar

Shuichi Yoshida of the GTR Institute (Genba Tech Research) is a well respected lean practitioner both at home and overseas. Having initially begun his career with Nissan Motor Manufacturing in Japan, he later became responsible for managing one of their manufacturing facilities prior to a secondment to Tennessee to assist the fledgling Nissan plant at Smyrna.

Upon leaving Nissan he initially worked as a consultant for Masaaki Imai at the Kaizen Institute before starting his own consulting company. He now works primarily in the Middle and Far Eastern regions consulting at managerial levels in both public and private industry as well as running regular study tours to some of Japan’s premier manufacturing sites.

His passion for kaizen continues to infect all those that he contacts and the regular newsletters he writes on the subject are testimony to his many years of experience.
